We're looking for a motivated, friendly, and enthusiastic Retail & Community Assistant to help us deliver an exceptional experience for our customers while supporting one of the region's fastest-growing gaming communities.

This is far more than a traditional retail role. You'll help introduce new players to the hobby, support tournaments and community events, manage trading card inventory, assist with online orders, and play an active role in building a destination for Trading Card Games, Retro Gaming, and Tabletop Gaming enthusiasts.

What You'll Be Doing

Creating Exceptional Customer Experiences

  • Welcoming customers into the store and delivering outstanding service.
  • Operating our Point of Sale system for purchases, returns, and customer enquiries.
  • Helping customers discover products that suit their interests and experience level.
  • Sharing your knowledge of Trading Card Games, Retro Gaming, and Tabletop RPGs.
  • Creating a friendly, inclusive environment where all customers feel welcome.

Supporting the TCG Community

  • Helping new players learn games and develop confidence within the hobby.
  • Running organised play events, tournaments, leagues, and community activities.
  • Assisting with event setup, registration, pairings, reporting, and close-down.
  • Moderating events professionally and ensuring a positive player experience.
  • Recording event results, taking photos, and assisting with social media content and community updates.
  • Upholding community standards and helping maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all.

Trading Card & Singles Operations

  • Purchasing cards from customers within company guidelines and authorised limits.
  • Assessing card condition and carrying out initial grading.
  • Organising, maintaining, and updating singles inventory.
  • Assisting with pricing, stock management, and inventory accuracy.
  • Helping ensure our singles offering remains organised, attractive, and customer-ready.

Retail & Store Operations

  • Using Shopify POS and inventory systems to manage sales and stock.
  • Picking, packing, labelling, and dispatching customer orders.
  • Receiving deliveries and booking stock into inventory.
  • Pricing products in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintaining attractive product displays and merchandising standards.
  • Monitoring stock levels and reporting replenishment requirements.
  • Performing general housekeeping duties to ensure the store remains clean, organised, and professional.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A positive, professional, and approachable attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for gaming, hobbies, or community-focused retail.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Disney Lorcana, Riftbound, or other Trading Card Games.
  • Previous experience in retail, gaming, or customer-facing roles.
  • Experience running tournaments, leagues, or organised play events.
  • Familiarity with Shopify POS and inventory systems.
  • Understanding of card grading and the trading card market.

Hours & Flexibility

  • Flexible shifts based on business requirements.
  • Minimum 16 hours a week with scope to increase over time.
  • Evening and weekend work required.
  • Shift swaps or schedule changes must be approved by the Operations Manager.
  • Additional hours may be available during major releases and special events.
